The adidas F10 boot is the entry level adidas Football boot based on the world’s lightest football boot, the adidas F50 adizero.
The adidas F50 is a phenomenal piece of engineering – when reviewed side by side, the F50 was noticeably lighter than Nike’s top-line offering, the Mercurial Vapour Superfly IIIs. Worn by the likes of Lionel Messi, David Villa, Gareth Bale and Nani, the adiZero is designed to be as light as possible, with the clear philosophy of ‘light is fast’.
Adidas F10: At A Glance
The adidas F10 boot is for those amateur football players who want the speed and balance of the F50 but without the budget to shell out a cool £200 for a pair of football boots. It’s not as light as the F50 (although at 260g it’s still very light) but at retail price of £40 (see all football trainers and boots from JD Sports) it’s definitely the weapon of choice for footballers looking for entry level football boots.
By comparison, the adidas F50 clocks at 160g, the Nike Superfly IIs weigh in at 210g and the comparable Nike boot, the Victory, is at 277g and a retail price of £50.
Adidas F10 Boot Design
The Upper is made from high density polyurethane similar in shape to the SprintSkin and Singmax of the adidas F50 adiZero and F30 (the mid-level offering) respectively.
Although nowhere as light as the F50’s SprintSkin, this PU upper is nevertheless highly durable, abrasion resistant, flexible and easy to clean.
The stitching across the toes is similar in placement and style to the Leather upper on adidas F50 adiZero, giving it a distinctive feature over the standard F50 & F30.
Adidas are keen to point out that despite lacking the internal TPU support bands found in the F30 and F50, the F10 retains excellent lateral stability thanks to the overall design of the boot as well the increased density of the PU upper.
The adidas F10 is available in Soft Ground, Firm Ground and Astroturf soleplates. The SG configuration benefits from the same hybrid plastic/metal stud system as it’s sibling football boots, the FG gets the same triangular-shaped studs and the Astroturf version has the standard black TRX TF we’ve seen refined over the last few seasons.
Adidas F10 Verdict
Given the lightness of the boot, the excellent design and the competitive price point, the Adidas F10 football boot is the ideal entry-level football boot for amateur footballers.
