Remember the now famous mesh shirts introduced for Mexico ’70? Well, the guys at Campo Retro have taken that enduring look and feel and fathomed a new range of classic yet uber-modern shirts to celebrate the upcoming 2014 World Cup in Brazil, with each kit emblazoned with their signature emblem of featuring Christ the Redeemer, one of the most iconic landmarks, and found in Rio de Janeiro.

No less than 12 national teams have been recreated in the Campo Retro style, with the likes of England, Italy, and Brazil getting a new, yet altogether familiar look as we approach kickoff in South America.

The mesh shirts, made from 88% cotton, were originally introduced in Mexico to help players cope with the sweltering heat. It coincided with the fact that it was the very first World Cup to be televised in colour, thereby immortalising the look for all time.

Brazil will play host to the 20th World Cup Finals between June and July, and there is surely nothing better than a good old retro shirt to get the heart pumping, with the summer festivities sure to be remembered long into the future.
