Finally, the new 2010 Champion of the World has been decided, after a grueling 120 minute match which looked like it could easily be won by either side. The Spanish Armada successfully defeated Germany two years ago to become the European champions, in a match that was not even close to the 2010 World Cup final in terms of excitement and suspense. It was fitting that Europe’s champions should prevail in the World Cup, even if they lost their opener to Switzerland and everyone began doubting them. The first ever World Cup win for Spain will be remembered and celebrated for many years to come, and to immortalize this moment, I have a sweet collection of Spain World Cup winners t-shirts to reveal. The collection consists of three Spain shirts, one eing an Andreas Iniesta shirt, the second a Campeones Del Mundo shirt, and the third a Furia Roja Shirt.
Here’s a preview:
The shirt commemorates the player and the moment in which the World Cup was won. Iniesta’s fine finish following a pass from Cesc Fabregas have solidified both of their positions in Spanish footballing history. Minute 117 also represents the only goal scored by a Spaniard in a World Cup final, and the break of a tradition of underachievement on the world’s biggest stage. Another cool element on the shirt is the star with the Spanish flag colors coming off of it. The shirt is also the same colour as the Spain Away Kit, which they played with in the final.
The Espana Campeones Del Mundo shirt is as straight forward as any shirt can be, giving a more modern and hip rendition of a phrase that will be worn out on very many t-shirts following today’s win. The shirt is red, which is the home color of Spain, and has white and yellow text, representing the other colors of the Spanish flag. The chest area is empty, and the focus goes to the bottom of the shirt, where the text wraps around.
