Vote of confidence time already for Keith Millen, Warnock says he won't spend in January while Sven is off to Thailand

Bristol need to make the change now

Normally I’m exasperated by fans who call for a manager’s head just a handful of games into a reign. In this instance, though, action is justified. Successful assistants do not always make the step up. Perhaps Millen does have the ability but I do not believe that Bristol are in a position to give him time to find his feet. They look woeful at present and are crying out for an experienced boss to come in and shake things up.

Come January and Warnock will have changed his mind

It is strange to hear Neil Warnock, in early October, announce that he won’t be buying anyone in January. I think it is probably intended as a vote of confidence in his current group of players. I reckon he will still look to pick up another striker. Despite the extraordinary success of Jamie Mackie, Rs do not have much depth up front. With promotion looking very possible, the owners will stump up the necessary cash.

22nd in the table and off to Bangkok

So Sven’s first act as Leicester manager is to take his side on a mid-season trip to Thailand in order to satisfy the whims of their new owners. Though Sven has defended the trip, it is hard to see this as anything other than an exhausting publicity stunt at an unwelcome time.
