Topping the table is harder than it looks

The Big Result – Cardiff 0 Notts Forest 2

No-one is being allowed to sit comfortably on the top of this year’s Championship. Nothing like last year, when Newcastle settled there early and refused to be moved. Forest keep threatening to do some damage in this division without ever really getting going. They are the joker in the title race pack.

The come back – Sheff Utd 3 Palace 2

It was all looking so heroic. Palace, playing with ten men for almost an hour, looked to have pulled off a huge win over their fellow strugglers. And then with five minutes to go, Bogdanovic and Evans (neither of whom have been lethal this season) came up with the goods. Owen Garvan is a naughty boy.

(Possibly) the next big thing

Brett Pitman was a goal machine at Bournemouth. Since leaving, he has gained fame for turning down a move to Premier League Blackpool in search of more cash. So it was good for him to finally open his Bristol account and get people talking about his footballing skills. Hopefully the first of many for the 22 year old.
