A Cypriot joins QPR, Championship clubs battle to keep their players and can Leicester do a Chelsea?

Georgios Tofas arrives at QPR

While I haven’t seen Tofas play, the length of time he has spent on trial and the fact that Neil Warnock doesn’t suffer fools means that I will watch him with interest.

It’s also interesting to see QPR pick up another player on a free transfer. For all the money that is supposed to be at the club, this is further evidence that Warnock is being expected to work on a relatively tight budget.

Commons and Hamill look set to stay while Swansea face a battle to hang onto Pratley

Derby and Barnsley both received huge boosts today by the news that key players should be staying. Kris Commons has agreed to start negotiations on a new contract while Adam Hamill has pledged his future to the club. There is no question that for these sides, keeping these players away from Premiership clutches will be crucial for their chances of success this season.

It appears that Premiership clubs are queuing up to sign Darren Pratley from Swansea. It will be very interesting if the Swans can win this battle. They can offer him a guaranteed place in the first eleven and a great shot at promotion but will that be enough?

Are Leicester really in for Roque Santa Cruz?

At this stage we have to resume that this is another mad post-Sven’s arrival rumour. It would be fascinating though if Leicester were to attempt to bring some big names to the Walker’s Stadium. Would money be enough to encourage these players to abandon the Premier League? Can Leicester do a Chelsea?
