The Spanish forward, Fernando Torres, scored two goals in the first game of the qualifying stage for Euro 2012 against Liechtenstein, in which the World Cup champion won 4-0 and recovered one of their key players.
Online betting fans should take into consideration that Spain is part of Group I in the qualifying round of Euro 2012, along with the national teams of Czech Republic, Scotland, Lithuania and Liechtenstein.
Last Friday, Liverpool reported that the club’s medical staff considered that Torres should spend at least three weeks off the field to regain his high level of play, and Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson was expecting that Vicente Del Bosque would replace Torres.
Torres is still recovering from the two surgeries he underwent last season, which prohibited him from having outstanding performances in any of the seven matches he played in the 2010 World Cup South Africa.
However, Torres struck twice in the game against Liechtenstein, and after the game he said that these goals will give him more confidence.
“It is important to keep scoring and goals give you more confidence. I feel proud and lucky to be on this team, which always allowed me to score a lot of goals”said Torres.
Fernando Torres didn’t score in an official game of “La Roja” for over a year. The last time he scored was in the FIFA Confederations Cup.
The other two scores were made by David Villa and David Silva. For his part, Villa got his 43rd goal and remains just one goal behind Raul Gonzalez, the top scorer of the Spanish team with 44.
Finally, Spain plays a friendly match on Tuesday against Argentina’s national team in Buenos Aires.
