Cardiff and Swansea are the teams to beat
I was at Loftus Road today to see QPR relinquish their position as league leaders. Their performance might have been full of impressive midfield creativity but the Rs were desperately lacking in a clinical front-man. In contrast, Cardiff and Swansea both scored with ease today. Their recent performances have set the bar for the rest of the division and next week’s Welsh derby should be a classic.
Derby deserve credit for backing Nigel
Derby are not just winning games; they are playing some of the most attractive football in the Championship. In Nigel Clough, they found a manager who they believed in and they have given him time to build a side. A lesson to all.
An apology to Keith Millen
On the subject of giving managers a chance, it appears that I (along with many others) wrote off Bristol’s new manager too quickly. They have taken seven points from three tricky games and look revitalised. Now all he needs is a fit Nicky Maynard.
