The £35 million signing from Barcelona has made a superb start to life in London, scoring nine goals in thirteen appearances in the league.
Arsenal have secured crucial points off the back of those strikes, and as a result Wenger’s side sit just two points off a top-four place, despite a difficult start to the season.
And the French boss has shown his appreciation for Sanchez, claiming the 25 year-old has settled quickest of all the foreigners in the Premier League’s history.
“It’s difficult to find examples of people who have settled so quickly,” Wenger told the press.
“My memory is not perfect but quicker, you cannot [think of anyone who has started so well in the Premier League].
“We are in December and he arrived in July. When you look at the number of goals and the impact he has on the team, it’s fabulous.
“He was one of the players who had to dig in [against Southampton], but he still has such a desire to fight, which is why he always finds something special to get the goal.”
Sanchez has also earned praise from teammate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who described him as a “breath of fresh air” at the club.
“He is not happy when he doesn’t score,” Chamberlain said. “If I scored as many goals as he has at this stage, I’d be over the moon.
“He has been brilliant for us and a breath of fresh air, so hopefully he can stay in the form that he is in and we can help him out to keep producing goals like he has been.”
