Manchester United goal keeper David de Gea has dropped a big hint during an interview with AS TV where he says Victor Valdes has already been signed by the club.

The United goal keeper got injured badly during training session with Spain and was ruled out against Belarus. The former Atletico goal keeper is likely miss out against Germany as well, but he could return against Arsenal on Saturday.

There have been speculations in the media on De Gea’s future recently, with British tabloids claiming that he is a possible target of Real Madrid.

De Gea says that his contract runs out in 2016, and although he didn’t give any hint whether he will extend his contract or not; he doesn’t see Valdes as his successor at the Old Trafford club.

Valdes has been training with United in order to recover from his injury but no official conformations been made by the club about his signing. Yesterday, Mundo Deportivo reported that United will only sign the player once he recovers fully from his injury.

“Yes, my contract runs out in 2016. But they didn’t sign him for that”, he told AS TV as relayed by ESPN.

“Victor had a difficult injury, he had a bad time and the boss knows him well and has given him the opportunity to recover there.

“Yes, Victor is training over in Manchester — he’s still not 100 percent after his injury. When he is fully fit he will start to train with us. He’s still not training in goal with us. From time to time he comes out with the goalkeeping coach, but very little still.

“Van Gaal knows him well because he gave Victor his debut at Barca and has a special affection for him and, whenever possible, we have to help where we can.

“Football is cruel at times, it’s difficult. When things go well you’re very good and when they go badly… well, it’s awful.”

Although it was quite clear to us that at some of point United would have made this announcement official, it was nice of De Gea to let us know that the club might have ‘signed’ another goal keeper already.

In case De Gea doesn’t recover fully before the Arsenal clash, Anders Lindegaard could take his place against the gunners.
