Charles Oliviera vs Dustin Poirier Preview

BetOnline odds: Oliviera: (+143); Poirier (-168)

It’s hard to find anyone willing to put money down on Charles Oliviera (31-8) in this fight, but bet against the Brazillian at your peril, especially with underdog odds of +143!

Oliviera hasn’t lost a fight in four years and has won nine straight over a murderer’s row of elite lightweight contenders, including the likes of Michael Chandler (K.O), Tony Ferguson (U-DEC), and Kevin Lee (sub via guillotine).

After defeating Conor McGregor twice this year and winning vs the likes of Max Holloway and Justin Gaethje en route to his last championship bout with Khabib Nurmagomedov which ended in a tough loss, Dustin Poirier (28-6) is undoubtedly set to be the Brazillian’s toughest test to date.

But, if Oliviera can get this fight to the mat, we predict a long and draining night of grappling and submission escapes for Poirier. And don’t be surprised to see the Brazillian daze him on the feet either – Oliviera has underappreciated power in his hands, as Michael Chandler will testify.

UFC Pick: Poirier comes up short again against an underrated champion in Charles Oliviera.

Amanda Nunez vs Juliana Pena Preview

UFC Picks Amanda Nunez
UFC Picks – Amanda Nunez

BetOnline odds: Nunez (-1000); Pena (+600)

Amanda “Lioness” Nunez (21-4) hasn’t lost a fight in almost seven years and is in the midst of a 12 fight winning streak that includes eight successful title defenses.

Julianna Pena (11-4) defeated Sara McMann via rear-naked choke last time we saw her in action inside the Octagon. But, the Venezuelan has suffered defeats up against the elite contenders in the women’s game, losing to both Germaine de Randamie and Valentina Shevchenko in recent bouts. Unfortunately for Pena, Nunez definitely falls into the elite category, too.

That said…

UFC Pick: Nunez is the huge betting favorite for a reason. But, unless you’re planning on adding this pick to a parlay, you’d just as well vouch for Pena as the Underdog and pray for a puncher’s chance at +600

Geoff Neal vs Santiago Ponzinibbio Preview

UFC 269 Betting Picks Santiago Ponzinibbio
UFC 269 Betting Picks – Santiago Ponzinibbio

BetOnline Odds: Neal (+109); Ponzinibbio (-129)

With the exception of the Jingliang fight, in which the “Argentine Dagger” was caught with a big shot and knocked out in the very first round, Santiago Ponzinibbio (29-4) has been on a tear in the UFC welterweight division, beating the likes of Neil Magny, Gunnar Nelson, and Mike Perry on his way to eight wins in nine.

Another win vs Geoff Neal (13-4) on Saturday will surely see Ponzinbibbio thrust into the title conversation, and it’s for this reason – plus the fact that the Argentine wages absolute war every time we see him in the Octagon – that we think he’ll get the job done.

Neal is in the midst of a two-fight skid after suffering defeats to Stephen Thompson and Neil Magny on points. On his day, “Handz of Steel” is a match for anyone and throws with volume and fight-ending intentions…

But, we’re just not sure Neal has ever faced anyone as robust and aggressive as Ponzinibbio.

UFC Picks: Ponzinibbio’s engine proves too much for a game Neil

Bet on Ponzinibbio to win (-129) at BetOnline

Kai-Kara France vs Cody Garbrandt Preview

UFC 269 Picks Cody Garbrandt
UFC 269 Picks – Cody Garbrandt

BetOnline odds: France (+117); Garbrandt (-137)

After being outworked, outclassed, and suffering an eventual defeat in his last trip to the Octagon vs Rob Font, former bantamweight champion Cody “No Love” Garbrandt needs a big win at UFC269 to keep his name relevant in the upper echelons of the division.

Striker Kai-Kara France (22-9) is unlikely to lay down for Garbrandt, mind. After knocking out Rogerio Bontorin in spectacular fashion in his last outing, the Kiwi has amassed five wins in seven UFC appearances and is likely thinking about a title charge of his own.

That said, we think the superior experience of Garbrandt will prove pivotal in this one. Expect to see the American lure his opponent into a phone booth and land the strikes required to take the W.

UFC Pick: Cody Garbrandt returns to the win column at France’s expense

Bet on Garbrandt to win (-137) at BetOnline

Raulian Paiva vs Sean O’Malley Preview

UFC 269 Predictions Sean OMalley
UFC 269 Predictions – Sean O’Malley

BetOnline Odds: O’Malley (-300); Paiva (+250)

Raulian Paiva (21-3) is unbeaten in his last three trips to the Octagon. The Brazillian is a jiu-jitsu black belt and has put away the likes of Kyler Phillips and Mark de la Rosa in recent bouts. Paiva will certainly test O’Malley’s ground game IF (and it’s a big ‘if’) he can get this fight to the mat.

We, however, will be backing the favorite in this fight. Besides that one defeat to Marlon Vera in which O’Malley’s leg was compromised early on and he couldn’t strike, Arizona-native “Sugar Sean” (14-1) has put on a clinic every time he’s stepped foot inside the Octagon. Most recently “Sugar” beat up and bloodied a game Kris Moutinho with 230 strikes en route to a third-round TKO.

UFC Pick: “Sugar” Sean continues his march towards UFC gold with a big win over Paiva

Bet on O’Malley to win (-300) at BetOnline
