The departures of offensive lineman Terron Armstead and all-action safety Marcus Williams are the big losses for the Saints this offseason. Armstead is a 3x Pro Bowler and as good a door opener as there is in the NFL.

Not wanting to downgrade the secondary with the departure of M.Williams and the retirement of M.Jenkins, coach Allen struck quickly by snapping up M.Maye and D.Sorensen early in free agency.
Maye endured a tough 2021 campaign with the Jets. The safety struggled with injury and had to contend with a lingering DUI and faltering contract negotiations. The season prior, however, Maye was PFF’s 3rd highest-ranked safety and was close to Pro Bowl honors.
Sorensen, a Super Bowl winner with the Chiefs in 2020, appeared to lose a step last season, but his experience and leadership make him a fine stop-gap replacement for M.Jenkins. At least he would have been…
