Nicolò Zaniolo changed his mind and decided that a move to Bournemouth was right for the Italian in this window, however Bournemouth owner Bill foley decided to block the transfer on deadline day.

Bournemouth emerged as the clear favourites to sign Zaniolo when they agreed a deal with Roma worth around €35 million earlier this week, however the 23-year old rejected the move away from Rome.

Zaniolo decided on deadline day that a move away from Roma was the best move for him and the out of favour forward chose to make the switch for England before the transfer window closes later today.

Unfortunately for the forward, Bournemouth owner Bill Foley decided to block the move as he believes the Cherries have already spent enough money in this window as reported by transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio:

“Zaniolo didn’t want to speak the Bournemouth sporting director who came to Roma and had discussions with the agent. But last night he decided to say yes to Bournemouth and spoke to them this morning. The private flight was ready. But in the afternoon the owner said no to the deal as they’ve spent enough money.”

Zaniolo fell out of favour in the capital after asking for a move away and even sat out of a league clash with Spezia to try and force a move to the previously interested AC Milan, however after that deal fell through Bournemouth became the best option.

With fans already branding Zaniolo a ‘traitor’ to the club, the midfielder will be praying for a miracle to take him away from Rome on deadline day.
