Arsenal’s Martinelli Helps Land Callux £4,250 In 5-0 Win Over Forest

Okay, your average punter might not wager £125 on a 33/1 shot, but that’s exactly what well-known streamer Callux, who is also a Gunners fan, did on today’s Arsenal v Nottingham Forest Premier League match.

As you see from his Twitter picture below the Premier League bet was for Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli to score the game’s first goal and the North London club to go and win the game 5-0.

Lux Didn’t Have To Wait Long For The Bet To Kick Into Life

Leg one of the wager was ticked off in just the fifth minute with Martinelli firing in a top header (watch below), so now it was just a case of Callux sitting back and hoping for a 5-0 goal rout.

However, after the first goal, Forest, who grabbed a surprise win over Liverpool last weekend, dug in and contained Arsenal to just the one goal lead at the break.

Therefore, at half-time the Callux 33/1 wager wasn’t really looking on, with the Gunners needing a clean sheet and another four goals in the second 45 minutes for it to land.

But a quick brace from Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson in the 49th and 52nd minutes gave the bet a much-needed shot in the arm and it was back on!

Partey added a fourth in the 57th minute and so, in what looked unlikely at half-time, Callux was probably thinking ‘slow down Arsenal’…… I don’t need this to turn into a 6-0 romp like the Man City win over Forest at the end of August.

Luckily a 21 minute dry-spell followed to eat away at the clock and then the needed fifth goal for the 5-0 bet was secured when Norwegian Martin Odegaard scored in the 78th minute.

In what was likely a very tense final 12 mins (plus injury) time for the bet to win it probably felt like another 90-minute game had been played out during that last period – but with the final whistle going and the game remaining at 5-0, then it was ‘Gunner’ be a big night of celebrations for Callux with a cool £4,250 scooped off the bookies.

Arsenal’s Win Takes Them Top Of The Premier League Again

Today’s easy win for Arsenal saw them leapfrog Man City and move back to the top of the Premier League table with 31 points from their opening 12 games – winning 10, drawing one and just the one defeat, which came against Manchester United back on Sept 4th.

Their recent win saw the Gunners shorten into @ 6/1 with BetVictor, but despite being two points behind Arsenal it’s Manchester City that remain as the hot favorites to defend their Premier League title @ 1/6 with BetVictor.

Forest Still Rooted To The Bottom Of The Table

At the other end of the Premier League table, struggling Nottingham Forest are still sitting bottom of the table with 9 points and are @ 1/2 with BetVictor to be relegated or a better 15/8 to finish bottom.

Unfortunately, as bookmaking funny guys – Paddy Power – said on Facebook today, Steve Copper’s Forest can’t face Liverpool EVERY week!
