With pressure continuing to grow on Hammers boss David Moyes, we’ve taken a look at the top five candidates that could become the next West Ham manager.
Following West Ham’s 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend, David Moyes became the bookies’ favourite for the next Premier League manager to be sacked odds.
Reports have suggested that Moyes will be relieved of his duties if his side falls to defeat against fellow relegation-battlers Nottingham Forest this weekend.

The Hammers are currently 18th in the Premier League table – in the relegation zone, one point from safety.
Their Europa Conference League campaign is still alive however, as they are already in the last-16 of the competition after topping their group.
With Moyes’ tenure at the London Stadium looking as if it’s coming to an end, we’ve taken a look at the top five candidates to replace him as West Ham manager.
5. Mauricio Pochettino
Argentinian Mauricio Pochettino is the fifth favourite to take over at the London Stadium, priced at 10/1 to become Hammers manager.
Pochettino has plenty of Premier League experience, having previously managed Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton.
The Argentine led Spurs to their first ever Champions League final in 2019, losing out in Madrid with a 2-0 scoreline against Liverpool.
3-0 to Ajax on agg. at half-time of the second leg.

His most recent management job was with Paris-Saint-Germain. In France he won the Ligue 1, the Coupe de France and the Trophee des Champions.
Pochettino has been linked with vacant Premier League jobs for many years now, and is the current favourite to replace Graham Potter at Chelsea, but could a role with the West Ham bring him back to England?
4. Steven Gerrard
Bookmakers have priced Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard at 10/1 to become the next West Ham manager, making him the fourth favourite.
Gerrard was most recently at Aston Villa, but was sacked earlier in the season.
His Villa side managed just two wins in their opening 12 matches of the campaign, which inevitably led to his dismissal.
Prior to joining Villa, Gerrard was the manager of Scottish giants Rangers. In 2020/21 Gerrard led Rangers to their first Scottish Premiership title in 10 years, finishing 25 points clear of second-place Celtic.
3. Ange Postecoglou
The third favourite to take over at West Ham has ties to the other half of Glasgow, as Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has been priced at 9/1 to replace Moyes.
Postecoglou has impressed massively since arriving in Scotland from Japan last summer.
In his first season with the club, he won both the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish League Cup.

Glasgow’s green and white hoops have lost just one league game this season, and are nine points clear of Rangers at the top-of-the-table.
The Aussie’s contract at Celtic Park comes to an end in the summer, but could he cut his time in Glasgow short for a move to East London?
2. Nuno Espirito Santo
Former Spurs and Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo has been priced at 8/1 to take over from David Moyes, making him the bookmakers’ second favourite for the job.
The 49-year-old is currently managing in Saudi Arabia, as his Al-Ittihad side are currently second in the Saudi Professional League.
Premier League fans will best remember Nuno for his time at Wolves, where he spent four years before leaving by mutual consent.
Nuno led the midlands-based club to the Europa League quarter-finals in 2019/2o, their best performance in Europe since 1971/72.
He lasted just four months in his role with Tottenham, being sacked on November 1, 2021, after a poor run of results which saw Spurs lose five of their last seven Premier League matches.
Could we see the Portuguese boss return to England in place of Moyes?
1. Rafa Benitez
Former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has been identified as the favourite to become the next West Ham manager, with the bookies pricing the Spaniard at 7/4 to take over.
Benitez has plenty of Premier League experience, having previously managed Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle and Everton.
He also has experience managing Real Madrid, where he failed to win a single trophy before being dismissed.
The Spaniard is best remembered for leading Liverpool to the Champions League title in 2004/05, as well as leading Chelsea to the Europa League title in 2012/13.
🗣️ "Istanbul was unforgettable because, after a long absence, Liverpool returned to the most important club competition final. It is probably the best, most emotional final the Champions League has ever seen."

His last job was with relegation-strugglers Everton, where he was sacked after losing nine of their last 13 Premier League matches.
Could Benitez add to his wealth of managerial experience with a spell at West Ham?
