Sheffield United vs Tottenham Hotspur Preview

It’s the Championship’s 2nd placed team against the Premier League’s 4th placed team at Bramall Lane on Wednesday evening, as Sheffield United host Tottenham Hotspur in the last-16 of the FA Cup.

Last time out in the FA Cup, Sheffield United defeated National League side Wrexham in their fourth round replay to advance to the fifth round. The Blades left it late, as Billy Sharp and Sander Berge both netted in added time to secure the victory for Paul Heckingbottom’s side.

Tottenham’s fourth round fixture was much more straight forward – a 3-0 win over Preston North End. A debut Arnaut Danjuma goal and a Heung-Min Son brace secured Spurs’ spot in the last-16.

Neither side are in particularly great form, but Spurs come into this one off the back of two Premier League victories, one against Chelsea and one against West Ham.

Sheffield United defeated Championship play-off hopefuls Watford 1-0 in their last match, with Ryan Porteous turning into his own net to hand the Blades the victory.
