Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp has aggravated Wrexham fans on social media after the forward labelled the non-league side as ‘disrespectful’ in his post-match interview.

The Blades got the better of Wrexham in last night’s FA Cup replay, with Sharp scoring the all-important second-goal. Paul Mullin pulled one back for the Welsh side to level it at 1-1, however the Welshman missed his chance to take the lead as his penalty was saved by Adam Davies.

Sander Berge secured the victory and put Sheffield United into the next round where they will face Tottenham Hotspur. But before Sharp turned his focus to Spurs, he had plenty to say about Wrexham’s antics over the course of both matches.

Sharp said: “I think they’ve been disrespectful, though. A few things before the game, thinking they were already through; I’m glad we’ve beaten them,”

“I think they thought we were just going to roll over when we get back in it. I think the referee was helping them all night as well, I don’t think he gave me one foul all night.”

The 36-year-old also believed that the Hollywood-owned side were overlooking Sheffield United and eyeing-up the chance to play Tottenham.

He said: “I wasn’t happy with the way they’ve been as a club before the game, eyeing up Spurs. They’ve not even beaten us.”

These comments annoyed Wrexham fans, who showed their disapproval on social media. The supporters of the National League side took to twitter to give their thoughts on Sharp.

Sheffield United will welcome Premier League giants, Tottenham Hotspur on 1st March and Sharp will be hoping he doesn’t receive the same level of backlash from Spurs fans.
