Sevilla Vs Roma Match Details

La Liga side Sevilla face off against Europa Conference League holders Roma in the final of the Europa League on Wednesday evening.

Jose Mourinho will be looking to mastermind another European final victory for his Serie A side, having won 100% of the European finals that he’s managed in. It may well be Mourinho’s last chance to win another piece of silverware with Roma too, with reports heavily linking the boss to join Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

Sevilla booked their spot in Budapest’s final with an extra-time triumph over Juventus, defeating the Old Lady 3-2 over the course of 210 minutes of football.

As for Roma, Mourinho’s defensive tactics secured their advancement to the final with a 1-0 aggregate victory over Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen. The Serie A’s sixth placed side failed to record a single shot on target in the second leg, and held just 28% of the possession as they drew 0-0 against Xabi Alonso’s side.

It’s expected to be an incredibly tight affair at the Puskas Arena, with fans and pundits struggling to predict whether Europe’s second tier trophy will go back to Spain, or go back to Italy.

Centre-Backs: Roger Ibanez (£30m) & Gianluca Mancini (£18m)

Roma’s defensive duo Roger Ibanez and Gianluca Mancini line-up for us in our combined XI – making it two Roma players, and two Sevilla players thus far. Other central defensive options were Roma defenders Diego Llorente (£12m), Marash Kumbulla (£9m), Chris Smalling (£8m), as well as Sevilla’s Loic Bade (£10m), Marcao (£10m), Tanguy Nianzou (£9m) and Karim Rekik (£4m).

Left-Back: Leonardo Spinazzola (£15m)

Defensive Midfielders: Bryan Cristante (£20m) & Joan Jordan (£12m)

It’s a defensive midfielder apiece for Sevilla and Roma in our combined XI, as Joan Jordan and Bryan Cristante make the cut. Ineligible Pape Gueye (£10m) misses out, alongside Nemanja Gudelj (£4m), as well as Roma’s Nemanja Matic (£4m) and Mady Camara (£11m).

Right-Winger: Paulo Dybala (£30m)

Typically deployed as an attacking midfielder or second striker, Paulo Dybala starts at right-wing in our combined XI. The Roma forward is valued at £30m, and earns his place in the lineup ahead of Sevilla’s Tecatito (£10m), Erik Lamela (£10m) and Suso (£7m), as well as Roma’s Ola Solbakken (£3.5m).

Attacking Midfielder: Lorenzo Pellegrini (£35m)

Lorenzo Pellegrini gets the nod in attacking midfield. Valued at £35m, the Roma midfielder is the squad’s second most valuable player. He pips Sevilla’s Oliver Torres (£9m) and Roma’s Georginio Wijnaldum (£12m) to a starting position in the team.

Left-Winger: Nicola Zalewski (£15m)

Roma’s Polish talent Nicola Zalewski starts on the left in our team. Zalewski is valued at around £15m, higher than Stephan El Sharaawy (£5m), Lucas Ocampos (£12m), Bryan Gil (£12m) and Papu Gomez (£3m).
