Ruben Loftus-Cheek is set to be the first player to leave Chelsea this summer as the Mauricio Pochettino clear-out begins, with AC Milan edging closer to agreeing a deal for the midfielder.

Loftus-Cheek Close To Chelsea Exit

Milan made contact with the Blues towards the end of April over a possible move for Loftus-Cheek, and it looks like it’s coming together now.

The 27-year-old has been at the club since the age of eight, but after almost two decades it’s likely Milan will be his next destination.

Milan are optimistic they can reach a deal with Chelsea for roughly £20million, with Loftus-Cheek only having a year left on his contract.

Loftus-Cheek will become the first of many who are expected to leave the Blues this summer. Matteo Kovacic could also be leaving after entering talks with Manchester City over a possible move to the Etihad. N’Golo Kante‘s future is also uncertain with the France international’s contract set to expire in the capital later this month.

The English midfielder started Chelsea’s last game of the season against Newcastle, where he appeared to say goodbye as he clapped all ends of Stamford Bridge.

Paolo Maldini believes that Loftus-Cheek can fill the void left in the middle of the field by Frank Kessie’s departure last summer.

And, Loftus-Cheek won’t be the first to swap Chelsea for Milan…He’ll join Olivier Giroud and Fikayo Tomori who were most recently at the club before making the switch to Italy.
