Andrew heads to the evening meetings at Ripon and Kempton for four selections across three races on Wednesday, June 7th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:

RIPON 6.40

LASER GUIDED (system – Simon & Ed Crisford, handicap debutants)

The Crisford yard does well with handicap debutants, scoring with 63 of the 248 qualifiers (25.4% strike-rate) for a profit of £16.05 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those travelling more than 100 miles from their Newmarket base were 30 from 95 (31.6%) for a profit of £39.22. Forcing tactics contributed to LASER GUIDED’s five-length runner-up effort in a 1m2f Newcastle maiden last time (that course and distance eats front-runners alive) but they will serve him well at this venue.

KEMPTON 7.50

TAMARAMA (system – Ralph Beckett, fillies’ handicaps, all-weather)

Since the beginning of 2010, trainer Ralph Beckett has a 26 from 99 record in fillies’ handicaps on the all-weather for a profit of £32.83 to a £1 level stake at SP. The majority of the winners came on Polytrack and TAMARAMA, the mount of Frankie Dettori, won at Chelmsford when last encountering an artificial surface and is likely to appreciate the cut back to 1m after her non-staying 1m2f Haydock fourth on her latest outing.

KEMPTON 8.25

MOVING LIGHT (system – Saeed Bin Suroor, 4yo+, handicaps)

STAY WELL (system – Iffraaj, Kempton, 1m3f+)

Saeed Bin Suroor has a fine recent record with horses aged four or older in handicaps, scoring with 90 of the 432 qualifiers for a profit of £58.44 to a £1 level stake at SP. His last two qualifiers both won (10-1 and 100-30) and MOVING LIGHT has fair prospects of getting the hat-trick up tonight. I’ve also bet STAY WELL, who has a win and a narrow second to his name from two starts at Kempton. Progeny of his sire, Iffraaj, are profitable to back blind over 1m3f or further at Sunbury venue, landing 18 of their 107 starts (+£42.20 to a £1 level stake at SP).
