Progeny of the sire Night Of Thunder have a solid record on good to soft or softer going (based on actual times, not the official verdict), winning 49 of their 264 starts on the Flat (prior to Monday’s racing) for a profit of £56.47. ROYAL THUNDER could improve for this switch from Polytrack and is worth a small each-way interest.

STARSONG (systems – Mick Appleby, first-time hood, fillies and mares & Mick Appleby stable switchers)
Mick Appleby has a fair record when using a first-time hood on a filly or mare, scoring with seven of the 45 qualifiers for a huge profit of £126.00. He also does well at the first time of asking with horses he takes over from other yards, winning with 86 of the 496 qualifiers (17.3%) for a profit of £290.42. The ex-Fozzy Stack-trained STARSONG changed hands relatively cheaply but could improve for the headgear and change of scenery.

DONNA ITALIANA (system – Raven’s Pass, first-time hood)
Progeny of the sire Raven’s Pass have a nine from 46 record when fitted with a first-time hood on the Flat and backing them all would have returned a profit of £37.00 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those stats include form figures of 41311 (3-5) with Kempton runners who started at 20-1 or shorter (winners at 12-1, 8-1 and 11-4), suggesting that DONNA ITALIANA could be worth an interest to build on her one-length Wolverhampton third earlier this month.
