Hollie Doyle doesn’t often ride for John Butler but her 23 mounts for the Newmarket handler have produced four winners (14-1, 12-1, 9-2 and 4-1) for a profit of £15.50 to a £1 level stake at SP. Seven of the 16 beaten horses finished second, third or fourth and an each-way approach could pay dividends with MUSTERION this afternoon. Younger progeny of his sire Zoffany, aged two to four, do well over the longer trips (9.4f+) at Wolverhampton, landing 22 of their 148 starts (15%) for a profit of £71.83. Musterion’s sole previous handicap run here resulted in a solid 9-1 second.

SILVER SHEEN (system – Sulamani, second run after a wind operation)
Progeny of the sire Sulamani have a good record on their second run after wind surgery, landing eight of their 34 starts for a profit of £37.20 to a £1 level stake at SP. SILVER SHEEN, runner-up at Worcester on his latest start, needs to get his toe in and has underfoot conditions in his favour for the first time since joining Fergal O’Brien from Jessica Harrington.

LIGHTENING COMPANY (system – Fast Company, hurdles, good to soft or softer going)
The recent rain on watered ground will aid the cause of LIGHTENING COMPANY, who has found underfoot conditions too lively in three starts since April’s 1m2f Pontefract success on good to soft going. Had we backed all progeny of his sire, Fast Company, over hurdles on good to soft or softer going (according to race times, not the officially verdict) we’d have won 34 of our 266 bets (12.8% strike-rate) and made a profit of £66.89 to a £1 level stake at SP.
