CHURCHILLS BOY (system – Malinas, 2m4f+, good to soft or softer going)
Progeny of the sire Malinas have a solid record on good to soft or softer going, especially when stepped up to 2m4f or further. The current score stands at 78 winners from 463 bets (17% strike-rate) for a profit of £13.79 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those who’d raced within the past 90 days were 65 from 363 (18%) for a profit of £55.84. CHURCHILLS BOY was pulled up on his reappearance 23 days ago but that was a hot maiden hurdle won by Authorised Speed and a bad blunder at the fourth knocked the stuffing out him. He won a n bumper and point-to-point prior to that and can get his career back on track today.

VIDHAATA (system – New Approach, first-time cheekpieces, handicaps)
VIDHAATA could only finish tenth at Wolverhampton when a 12-1 shot on his handicap debut last month but he had the worst of the draw in stall 12 of 12 and failed to settle. That run is safely ignored and it’s interesting to see the cheekpieces go on tonight. Since the beginning of 2017, progeny of his sire New Approach are nine from 55 when fitted with first-time cheekpieces in handicap company (Flat or jumps) and backing them blind would have returned a profit of £53.13 to a £1 level stake at SP. He’s better berthed in stall 5 tonight and looks fairly priced at around the 10-1 mark.
