ZIGGY’S PHOENIX (system – Hannon second-time out 2yos, beaten when fancied on debut)
Since the beginning of 2015, juveniles from the Hannon yard who are beaten on their debuts when starting in the first two in the betting have done very well at the second time of asking, landing 41 of their 146 starts (28.1% strike-rate) for a profit of £54.39 to a £1 level stake at SP. ZIGGY’S PHOENIX ran very green and hung left when a one-length fourth at Kempton on last week’s debut and will know more this time.
RIPON 3.20
PRODIGIOUS BLUE (system – Bated Breath 4yos on turf)
Progeny of the sire Bated Breath have a good record in turf races on the Flat and tend to peak in their four-year-old campaign. Combining these two factors in a betting system would have found 69 winners from 490 qualifiers (14.1%) for a profit of £78.44 to the usual £1 stake. PRODIGIOUS BLUE failed to take advantage of a favourable low draw at Redcar last week but his 28-1 fifth of 12 was still a respectable effort as it came on the back of a 226-day absence. He’s made the frame at big prices (33-1 and 14-1) in both second-time-out runs and might reward each-way support.
NEWMARKET 4.45
PRINCE MAXI (system – Amo Racing-owned newcomers)
Amo Racing-owned newcomers, regardless of have, have a solid record, landing 31 of their 136 starts (prior to yesterday’s racing) for a profit of £43.50 to a £1 level stake at SP. PRINCE MAXI, who cost connections 160,000gns, looks a likely type on paper and can make a winning start to his career.
