Progeny of the sire Night Of Thunder have a 60 from 340 record (17.7%) on good to soft or softer going on the Flat and backing them all would have returned a profit £35.50 to a £1 level stake at SP (prior to yesterday’s racing). RAADOBARG, well drawn in stall 1 for this 1m Listed contest, didn’t stay 1m2f when 40-1 for the Wolferton Stakes at Royal Ascot but wasn’t disgraced in mid-division, especially as he was moderately drawn that day and raced closer to the early pace than ideal. He hasn’t had many opportunities for his current yard and could prove hard to pass if Kevin Stott elects to make the running.
PONTEFRACT 3.25
DUBAI SOUQ (system – Saeed Bin Suroor, 4yo+ handicappers)
In the past five years, Saeed Bin Suroor’s older handicappers (4yo+) have a 94 from 465 record (20% strike-rate) for a profit of £46.24 to a £1 level stake at SP. His two qualifiers on this angle yesterday ran in the same race at Ascot and finished one-two (9-4 and 12-1) for a £39.60 Tote Exacta payoff. DUBAI SOUQ, well drawn in stall 3, will appreciate the slow conditions and can record a fourth career win.
