JACK IN THE BOX was very disappointing at Galway last time, finishing a nine-length third of five despite starting as the even-money favourite. There was no obvious excuse for that defeat and, though a winner at Naas on his penultimate start, he has still yet to run a fast time in four career outings. Proform’s ratings have him as the seventh fastest out of the nine runners today and the step up to 2m7f is not certain to suit. He’s forecast to start as the 3-1 second favourite (behind even-money stablemate Favori De Champdou) and can be sold in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

GINNETS GIRL was probably flattered by last month’s runner-up effort in a 2m4f maiden hurdle at Sligo, as she raced wide, well away from the inside rail where the ground was badly churned up. That was her first run beyond 2m2f and she didn’t look to be crying out for today’s step up in trip to 2m7f. She’s forecast to start at odds of 9-2 and that looks plenty short enough. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.
