BANGOR JOCKEYS
BRIAN HUGHES is a potent force when riding at Bangor, especially when teaming up with Donald McCain, and the Champion Jockey-elect looks worth a buy in the Spreadex BANGOR JOCKEYS market. PRESENT FAIR can pick up points in the opening maiden hurdle (1.25) if repeating the form he showed at Wetherby last time where a 25-1 fourth of 17 in a stronger contest, only losing out on second place close home. McCain has a fantastic record in handicap hurdles at this venue and FFREE PEDRO could take a step forward on his handicap debut in the 1.58. He has two more handicap hurdle hopes – 11-10 shot ROCK HURLEY in the 3.43 and 7-2 chance JUNGLE JACK (3.08) – before his shortest-priced ride of the day, METHODOFMADNESS, who was even-money for the mares’ handicap chase (4.18) at the time of writing. Throw in BALLABAWN (4.53) and BLUEBERRY WINE (2.33) and it looks like being a day to remember for Hughes. Fixed odds punters might want to combine his mounts in a multiple bet.

CURRAGH 2.15
LAUGH A MINUTE finished last of seven at Dundalk towards the end of February but that run, his first for four months, would have been needed and Polytrack isn’t his surface (he’s 0-11 on the all-weather). He won this race last year after a similar preparation and has clearly been laid out for a repeat. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

NEWBURY 2.40
Mares at the head of the weights (in the top three after jockey claims were taken into account) have struggled in this Grade 2 contest, recording form figures of 2407009P9F6P202407 (0-18), which is bad news for ILOVETHENIGHTLIFE, RUBY ISLAND and MOVIDDY. Three of the last five winners were number 11 on the racecard and it was a similar story when the race only carried Listed status, with numbers 11, 15, 7 and 11 landed the last four such renewals. The ground was very testing here yesterday and we could again see the lighter-weighted runners dominate. The best way to side with them is to buy DOUBLE NUMBER OF WINNER with Spreadex.
