ESCOBAR has run with credit in the Group 3 Diomed Stakes on two previous occasions – finishing fifth by just under four lengths at 11-1 in 2021 and fourth by three lengths at 18-1 last year. He’s a nine-year-old but has improved since last year’s effort according to the official handicapper and should get a good tow into the race from Marie’s Diamond. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

EPSOM 2.10
PROSPEROUS VOYAGE heads the early betting for this Group 3 contest but looks worth taking on. Ralph Beckett’s four-year-old has only scored once from ten starts outside of maiden company and looked flattered when recording that success – she raced on the quickest part of the track in last season’s Falmouth Stakes. She’s 0-3 since that win and could only finish a nine-length fifth when a 3-1 shot at Newmarket last time. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market. Fixed odds punters might want to consider SHAARA, who will appreciate the quicker going after getting stuck in the mud at Newmarket on her comeback.
Recommendation: Oppose PROSPEROUS VOYAGE in Epsom 2.10
EPSOM 2.45
Adrian Nicholls has his team in fine form, scoring with three of his last four runners, and CAN TO CAN is taken to overcome a wide draw in the 3YO “Dash”. She displayed blistering early pace in first-time blinkers to score by five lengths at Newcastle on her latest outing, clocking a good speed figure in the process and might be able to get across to the often-favoured nearside rail. Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or back her each-way in the fixed odds betting.
Recommendation: Back CAN TO CAN in Epsom 2.45
