Get the calls right and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:
Andrew heads to the meetings at York and Chester for his three recommended bets/trades on Saturday, June 17th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:
YORK 2.00
Low draws have a good recent record in the 1m4f Queen Mother’s Cup – a handicap for female amateur riders – and backing stalls 1 and 2 in the past five seasons would have seen us hit winners at 33-1, 20-1 and 5-1 as well as placed horses at 5-1 and 4-1. BOLLIN MARGARET (stall 1 of 15), a wide-margin winner at Thirsk on her penultimate start, was only just touched off at Haydock when bidding to follow up 72 hours ago and holds solid claims, while YORKSHIRE LADY (stall 2) shaped as though further were needed when keeping on into a 28-1 five-length seventh of 13 in a hot Class 2 handicap over the extended 1m2f trip here last month. The best way to side with this pair in the Spreadex markets is to sell DOUBLE DRAW OF WINNER.
Recommendation: Sell DOUBLE DRAW OF WINNER in York 2.00
CHESTER 3.55
Jim Goldie’s GRAND CANAL won well in first-time blinkers at Ayr on his latest outing to take his record at that venue to 111 (3-3). However, his two previous Ayr victories were followed by defeats at Musselburgh/Carlisle and he also failed to back up his two wins when trained by Tom Ward, tasting defeat as the 6-5 favourite on each occasion. He’s not as well drawn as his two main market rivals and can be sold in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market. Fixed odds punters might like to side with Malakahna, who tends to thrive at this time of year and has her ground for the first time in a while.
Recommendation: Oppose GRAND CANAL in Chester 3.55
YORK 4.15
Blue Point colts are seven from 27 on their racecourse debuts for a profit of £12.08 to a £1 level stake at SP, with 11 of the beaten horses running second/third, suggesting that in-form Karl Burke’s INDICATE could run a big race despite lacking previous experience. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back INDICATE in York 4.15
