Spreadex offers both normal fixed odds betting plus spread betting on horse racing. There are some key differences between this form of gambling and placing regular fixed odds bets. Get the calls right and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:

The action hots up on Saturday (July 8th) and Andrew has three recommended bets/trades at Sandown and Haydock. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:

SANDOWN 2.25

The 1m Coral Challenge usually goes to a gelding aged four or older who contested a handicap last time out. There are several likely candidates, including course expert MAYSONG, whose three runs at the Esher venue have produced two wins and 16-1 runner-up effort. The Alice Haynes-trained six-year-old was only third of six at Hamilton in midweek but failed to settle in the small field and will be better suited by the tempo of today’s 15-runner contest. He’s the stable second string behind INDEMNIFY and is ridden by a very inexperienced 7lb claimer but he’s won for an apprentice previously and he looks overpriced. Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or back him each-way in the fixed odds betting (14-1 at the time of writing).

Recommendation: Back MAYSONG in Sandown 2.25

SANDOWN 3.00

Since the draw was reversed in 2011, the Coral Distaff has not been a kind race to those drawn very low. In the last renewals, stalls 1, 2, 3 and 4 have a combined record of just two from 44, with stalls 1 and 2 zero from 22. Had we simply bet all runners drawn in stall 5 or higher we’d have hit the winner on nine occasions from 47 bets for a profit of £30.58 to a £1 level stake at SP. There are seven qualifiers this year and the best way to side with them is to buy DOUBLE DRAW OF WINNER with Spreadex.

Recommendation: Buy DOUBLE DRAW OF WINNER in Sandown 3.00

HAYDOCK 3.15

The Old Newton Cup hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for market leaders in recent years, with the 13 favourites (including joint and co-favourites) failing to muster a single success in the last ten years (expected winners = 2.6). Most of those were four-year-olds, who have won just three of the last ten renewals (from 77 runners). Backing all those would have returned a loss of £46.00 to a £1 level stake at SP and the expected number of winners, judged by their prices, was closer to seven. Once again, four-year-olds dominate the early betting and, in a race that has produced winners at 25-1, 14-1 (twice), 12-1 (twice) and 10-1 in the past eight seasons, it could be worth buying SP OF WINNER at 13 in what looks a very open and competitive renewal. Fixed odds punters might want to have an each-way bet on ONESMOOTHOPERATOR, who will appreciate the likely strong gallop.

Recommendation: Buy SP OF WINNER in Haydock 3.15
