James Fanshawe’s two-year-old filly LADY WORMSLEY has been brought along steadily and has improved with experience. After three runs in novice company, she made her nursery debut over a 1m at Kempton, finishing second to Johnathan Portman’s Enochdhu (winner again since). Steadied in rear early, she made significant headway as the race developed before her effort petered out close home. She showed a decent turn of foot that day and the step back to 7f may well suit. Oliver Stammers has a fine record at Newcastle this year with 11 winners from 57 rides (19% strike rate) and will be keen to make his first ride for the yard a winning one. She can be supported in the 50-25-10 market or backed in the Spreadex fixed odds market.

Q TWENTY BOY caught the eye on his latest start when a never-nearer third to Scott Dixon’s enterprisingly ridden Valentine Blues. Slowly into stride, he travelled well in rear but failed to see daylight until inside the final furlong, when the bird had well and truly flown under an all-the way Kieran O’Neill ride. Jason Watson, twice successful on Q Twenty Boy, takes over from regular apprentice rider Isobel Francis and has a solid chance of at least hitting the frame. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or back each-way.
