DUKE OF LUCKLEY (systems – Martin Keighley, chasers in first-time visor & Southwell chasers)
Martin Keighley has a good recent record when fitting a chaser with a first-time visor, scoring with three of the nine runners since 2019 for a profit of £29.75 to a £1 level stake at SP. He also does well with his jumpers at Southwell, winning with 39 of the 238 qualifiers (16.4%) for a profit of £33.12. In chases only, that improves to 14 from 61 (23%) for a profit of £48.16. DUKE OF LUCKLEY, a course winner over hurdles on good ground last spring, didn’t enjoy the soft going when a modest fifth in first-time cheekpieces at Huntingdon last time, and can bounce back.
PONTEFRACT 3.15
MIAMI HEAT (system – Amo Racing-owned newcomers)
Owners Amo Racing are 37 from 161 (23% strike-rate) with newcomers, whether they were two or three-year-olds and regardless of who trains them. Backing all the qualifiers would have returned a profit of £44.73 to a £1 level stake at SP, with those ‘trained’ by Dominic Ffrench Davis landing five of their 13 starts (38.5%) for a profit of £14.50. MIAMI HEAT, the 14-1 outside of five at the time of writing, is well drawn in stall 1 and looks worth a speculative interest.
