KEMPTON 2.20
ACTION POINT (system – Archie Watson, male newcomers on the all-weather)
Archie Watson does well with racecourse debutants on the all-weather, especially the colts and geldings. Had we backed them blind we’d have won 31 of our 96 bets (32.3%) and made a profit of £55.98 to a £1 level stake at SP. ACTION POINT looks a likely type on paper and can defy a tricky draw in stall 7.
CHEPSTOW 2.35
NESTOR PARK (system – class barrier)
NESTOR PARK tends to struggle above Class 3 level, failing to score in eight such starts. At a lower level, he’s landed four of his 15 starts for a small profit and was made the frame in nine of the 11 defeats. Ben Pauling’s ten-year-old was pulled up in the Classic Chase at Warwick when we last saw him and will be much happier in Class 3 company today.
WOLVERHAMPTON 3.28
OUT OF SHADOWS (system – Marco Botti turf to Tapeta switchers)
Marco Botti does exceptionally well when switching one of his runners from turf to Tapeta – he’s won with ten of the 38 qualifiers at Newcastle for a profit of £44.58 to the usual £1 stake and 54 from 239 at Wolverhampton (+£76.60). He’s 0-4 at Southwell but one of them finished second and two of the others were huge prices (50-1 and 66-1). OUT OF SHADOWS, third at Epsom when we last saw him, has been gelded over the winter and looks very interesting on his all-weather debut.
