Andrew heads to Bath and Haydock for his four stats-based selections Friday,, June 9th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:
BATH 5.30
SAVALAS (system – Adrian WIntle, local tracks)
There are two tracks within a 50-mile radius of Adrian Wintle’s Gloucestershire base – Bath and Chepstow – and he has a fine recent record at both venues. Since racing resumed after lockdown in June 2020 he’s sent out eight winners from 57 runners at Chepstow for a profit of £25.50 to a £1 level stake at SP and 19 winners from 87 runners at Bath for a profit of £42.45. SAVALAS, a Bath winner last time out, looks capable of following up.
HAYDOCK 7.20
PALM LILY (system – Ralph Beckett, first-time blinkers)
In-form Ralph Beckett has a cracking record when using first-time blinkers, scoring with 29 of the 133 qualifiers since 2016 (21.8% strike-rate) for a profit of £105.10 to a £1 level stake at SP. He’s saddled two winners (16-1 and 4-1) from just six such runners at Haydock and PALM LILY, not disgraced in a three-length sixth behind Radio Goo Goo at Chester last time, could be worth chancing now that she sports the headgear.
BATH 8.20
BLUE HERO (system – Adrian WIntle, local tracks)
Like Savalas (see 5.30 Bath), BLUE HERO qualifies as a bet for me on the Adrian Wintle local tracks angle and, like his stablemate, he too won here on his most recent outing. He did well to overcome a wide draw in stall 11 of 11 that night (next three drawn 4, 3 and 5) and a 2lb rise is unlikely to stop him.
HAYDOCK 8.25
DALLAS STAR (system – Amo Racing-owned newcomers)
Backing newcomers owned by Amo Racing, whether two or three-year-olds and regardless of who trains them, is a fruitful exercise. Their distinctive colours have been carried to victory by 36 of the 156 qualifiers (23.1% strike-rate) for a profit of ÂŁ45.73 to a ÂŁ1 level stake at SP. Those from the yard of Dominic Ffrench Davis have form figures of 24112124122 (4-11) for a profit of ÂŁ12.50 and DALLAS STAR looks set to run a big race.
