After a failed Premier League vote to ban loan deals between clubs with the same ownership, SportsLens experts have revealed the latest PIF players to sign for Newcastle in January odds, with Cristiano Ronaldo now 9/1 to make the Magpies switch.
Following a failed voted to temporarily ban loan moves between teams under the same ownership, it has been confirmed that Newcastle will be able to conduct business with fellow PIF-owned clubs Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal, Al-Ahli and Al-Ittihad come January.
The ban was proposed as a temporary measure to block incoming loan deals until a more concrete solution could be agreed before the summer transfer window, but the proposal failed to receive the required 14 votes from Premier League clubs.
Eddie Howe‘s side have been linked with a move for ex-Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves following the lengthy suspension of Sandro Tonali, but the door is now open for them to move for the likes of Ronaldo, N’Golo Kante, Sadio Mane, Karim Benzema, and many more.

Which PIF Players Will Sign For Newcastle In January?
Using the odds for each of the PIF players listed above, we have calculated their implied probability of joining Newcastle in January in the table below.
Newcastle are in the market for a new midfielder in January, whether that be permanently or on loan, as they await the return of big-money summer signing Tonali who has been banned until August 2024. Al-Hilal midfielder and Portugal international Neves was tipped for a return to the English top flight with the Magpies even before Tonali’s suspension, but he is now priced at 6/1 to make the switch – making him the second favourite in our exclusive market. However, the Magpies’ struggles aren’t only in midfield as they’ve suffered numerous injury concerns in all areas of the pitch. Attackers Alexander Isak, Callum Wilson, Jacob Murphy, Harvey Barnes and Miguel Almiron have all been injured at some point during the first half of the campaign, while key defenders Sven Botman, Dan Burn and Fabian Schar have also been confined to the treatment table. This could leave a requirement for temporary reinforcements on both ends of the pitch, with ex-Manchester United man Ronaldo priced at 9/1 to make a sensational return to England. The Portugal captain has 16 goals and nine assists to his name in 17 outings this term, which would provide the Tyneside club a much-needed option in front of goal amid the concerns over Isak and Wilson’s fitness, but it’s his fellow countryman Jota who is favoured to join the Magpies, priced at 4/1. Ex-Juventus defender Merih Demiral is being earmarked as a potential suitor for Howe’s injury-stricken defence, priced at 8/1 to make a January switch, with former Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly also in the mix at 10/1.
