Nottingham Forest are in talks to sign another player this season. The new man is expected to be Newcastle United striker Chris Wood.

Nottingham Forest are in a battle to keep their Premier League status after returning this season. But they’ve made moves to improve their chance of staying up in the transfer market.

In the summer window they signed a remarkable 22 players. They’ve already added Danilo to that tally this window. It appears they aren’t finished yet as they near a deal for Newcastle United striker Chris Wood.

What Would Chris Wood Add To Nottingham Forest?

Chris Wood joined Newcastle United last January for £25million and was tasked with keeping them up. It was a task he succeeded in for the Toon. Eddie Howe flexed Newcastle United’s bank account by signing Alexander Isak.

An injury to Isak has given Wood a chance in the Premier League this season, but Newcastle United are ready to let him go this window. The move would only be a loan, but there would likely be an option to buy for Nottingham Forest.

From Nottingham Forest’s perspective, they need goals and Wood up top equals goals. The New Zealand international has 59 goals in 189 Premier League appearances.

Steve Cooper is clearly looking to keeping adding to and improving his squad. Chris Wood may be a great addition come the end of the season.
