Chelsea and Barcelona are still leading the race for Neymar Jr’s signature, despite the Brazilian being ruled out for the rest of the season through injury.
The most expensive player of all-time was having a record-breaking season prior to his recent injury, contributing to 24 goals in 20 appearances for the French champions. He has established himself as one of Europe’s best during his time in France, making 173 appearances and contributing to an incredible 195 goals since signing back in 2017.
However, the global superstar is set to miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury, which will require instant surgery. This comes at a time where his PSG future is in doubt as reports say that the French giants are willing to let one of their world-class trio leave, with the 30-year-old being the most likely.

Rumours have circulated about where his future lies and a return to his former side Barcelona could be on the cards. The La Liga side are currently top of the table but poor performances in Europe have caused Xavi to look at possible additions and his former teammate Neymar could be on the list.
Another club that are interested in the winger is Graham Potter’s Chelsea, who have shown that they have the funds to completed a move. Todd Boehly has spent over £500m since he took over in 2022 and with Barcelona facing a possible transfer ban, the Blues could take full advantage.
