Manchester United have struggled with suspensions, injury and tough results in recent weeks and the latest blow to the side see’s Alejandro Garnacho sidelined with an injury that is worse than originally expected.

Garnacho has enjoyed a breakthrough season for United and has become a regular feature in Erik Ten hag’s side this year but the Argentinian has suffered a blow to his season with an injury he picked up against Southampton.

United were disappointing against the Saints who left Old Trafford with a point after a 0-0 draw which saw Casemiro pick up a second red card in March for a reckless challenge on Carlos Alcaraz.

The dropped points for United will feel even worse now that one of the stars of their season so far has picked up a knock, as Garnacho was seen leaving Manchester in an ankle boot and crutches on Sunday afternoon.

Garnacho was reportedly sent for tests after the game which showed that the talented young winger’s injury is worse than first feared and the knock to his ankle could keep the 18-year old out for a lengthy period of time.

With just 11 Premier League games left this season and a quarter final in the FA Cup to contend with next weekend, Garnacho will be fighting a battle against time if he is to feature for United again this season.

United fans will be devastated to see their new star boy struggle with an injury and it’s no surprise, as the forward has made such a huge impact on this season for Ten Hag becoming so popular with everyone surrounding the club.

Garnacho has played so well recently that he in fact earned a call up to the Argentina squad for the upcoming International break however this fresh injury blow means the youngster will have to sit out yet again.
