FA Cup Final Preview

The 142nd FA Cup final will see a Manchester derby take place for the first time at Wembley, as treble-chasing Manchester City lock horns with bitter rivals Manchester United in the capital. United won the EFL Cup here back in February, so could add a second trophy for the season with a win here.

City have won this competition seven times before, meanwhile the Red Devils will look to win it for a 13th time.

Four years ago, Pep Guardiola’s side won a first-ever domestic quadruple in English football. Now they’ll bid to be the first team to win the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League in the same campaign since Sir Alex Ferguson’s Man United did it back in the 1998-99 season.

Surprisingly, Guardiola failed to record a victory in his side’s final two Premier League games of the season. They drew 1-1 with Brighton before losing 1-0 to Brentford on the last day of the season.

Meanwhile Erik ten Hag’s side ended May strongly recording four wins in their last four outings.
