Manchester City vs Brentford Preview & Prediction (19:30 KO)
Following on from their disappointing 1-1 draw against Chelsea at the weekend, Manchester City welcome Brentford to the Etihad in the Premier League on Tuesday night.
Former Cityzens winger Raheem Sterling put the Blues in front on Saturday evening, before Rodri levelled the scoring seven minutes from time. Norwegian marksman Erling Haaland had a particularly poor game in front of goal, failing to convert form 1.58 xG.
It’s a stalemate that marks the end of their 11 game winning run, however they are now unbeaten in 15 and sit in third place – four points adrift of table-toppers Liverpool. Brentford meanwhile, are down in a lowly-14th, just six points clear of the drop.
Thomas Frank’s side headed into the weekend off the back of an impressive 2-0 win over Wolves, but this couldn’t be built on as they fell to a heavy 4-1 defeat at the hands of Jurgen Klopp‘s Reds in the capital.
The Bees and City have already faced off once this month, where Neal Maupay handed the hosts an unlikely lead after just 21 minutes. An inspired Phil Foden wouldn’t go down without a fight though, as he responded with a hat-trick to secure all three points for Pep Guardiola‘s side.
Like their last meeting, we at SportsLens expect City to reign supreme in this one. Rotations are expected amid their packed schedule, however they are likely to remain reliant on the likes of Haaland, Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne, and we anticipate a bounce-back performance from their draw at the weekend.
Prediction: Manchester City 3-0 Brentford

Manchester City vs Brentford Betting Tip 1: Manchester City Half Time/Full Time @ 4/6
Our first tip for your Tuesday night Manchester City vs Brentford Premier League bet builder is to back the Cityzens to lead the tie at both half time and full time, priced by leading UK betting sites at 4/6.
Guardiola will be looking for a reaction from his side after missed chances costed them the three points against Chelsea on Saturday, therefore we expect the Cityzens to come flying out the traps at the Etihad.
Haaland will undoubtedly be looking to make up for his mishaps at the weekend with a goal or two here, which is why we’re backing the hosts to lead the tie at the break, as well as at the full time whistle.
Manchester City vs Brentford Betting Tip 2: Kevin De Bruyne To Score Anytime @ 11/5
De Bruyne has been nothing short of sensational since his return from injury at the start of January. The Belgian has already registered two goals and six assists in eight appearances in 2024.
After a long lay-off, he now looks back at full capacity after featuring for 90 minutes in back-to-back matches, in which he netted a goal and an assist against Copenhagen in the Champions League last Tuesday.
He failed to record a direct goal involvement against the Blues in the following match on Saturday, but regardless – he remained incredibly influential. Many fans and pundits alike identified the midfielder as their ‘Man of the Match’ for the clash.
We at SportsLens, like most, are seriously impressed by the 32-year-old’s output at the minute. Priced at 11/5, we’re backing De Bruyne to maintain this excellent form by scoring at anytime against the Bees at the Etihad.
