England coach Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has revealed that he thinks James Maddison is in line for a “big transfer soon” as Newcastle and a whole host of Premier League clubs remain linked with the midfielder.

Former Premier League forward and current England coach Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes that James Maddison will be on the move soon.

The Leicester City midfielder has constantly been linked with a move away from the King Power, but will now enter the final year of his contract.

He has previously been linked with Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United, but recent rumours have seen Newcastle United become the favourites to secure his services.

Maddison has been a vital cog in the Leicester team over the last few seasons. Since signing on from Norwich, he has contributed 42 goald and 30 assists in the Premier League.

He also become an England international in this time. After failing to appear at the World Cup, Maddison was named in Gareth Southgate’s most recent squad – starting in the 2-0 win over Ukraine.

With nine goals and six assists in all competitions in a struggling Foxes side this season, a summer may interest the 26-year-old.

And now his coach at international level, Hasselbaink, has revealed that he thinks he will be on the move soon.

Speaking to Parimatch, Hasselbaink was quizzed about which Premier League players he enjoys the most.

“There’s a few. James Maddison because he’s just so creative and I think he could be in line for a big transfer soon”.

A move for the two-time England international won’t come cheap however, with the midfielder being valued at around £55 million, per Transfermarkt.
