Liverpool have shown an interest in acquiring the signature of German international and Bayern Munich international, Joshua kimmich.

The German has been a pivotal member in the Bayern Munich side, breaking into the first-team as a full-back and transitioning into one of Europe’s best midfielders. The 28-year-old has made over 300 appearances for the Bundesliga giants and has become a valuable member for his national side.

Former Chelsea player and Daily Times writer, Tony Cascarino believes Jurgen Klopp should be pushing to sign Kimmich, claiming the Germans versatility would be a huge addition to Liverpool.

Cascarino said: “If they wanted a versatile option [in midfield], they could go for Bayern’s Joshua Kimmich, who can play at right back too.”

Liverpool have struggled this season, inconsistent performances and a multitude of injuries have caused the Reds to drop down the Premier League table. Sitting in 9th place, Klopp and his men will be keen to turn performances around, being a staggering 750/1 to win the league, according to UK betting sites.

The German international still has three years remaining on his contract, meaning if Bayern were willing to let Kimmich go, he would cost Liverpool a hefty transfer fee. Which may be difficult to negotiate given the midfielder’s age and status amongst Europe’s elite.
