Usman has been in the UFC for over seven years, making his debut back in December 2015 against Leon Edwards. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ won by unanimous decision, the first of three epic fights with the English MMA star and reigning UFC Welterweight Champion.

Usman won the UFC Welterweight Title at the first attempt, defeating the previously long-reigning champion Tyron Woodley with ease. For his crowning night, Usman was paid a hefty sum of $380,000. Since then, the 36-year-old has earned seven $500k+ purses in his UFC career.

His biggest pay-day to date came in his rematch with Jorge Masvidal at UFC 261. Usman won the fight via emphatic knockout, earning a tidy $692,000 for his efforts. Not bad for just six minutes of work.

His second biggest purse came the fight prior to that against Gilbert Burns, with Usman reportedly earning somewhere in the region of $690,000. He also earned over $1 million combined for his two wins against Colby Covington, as well as earning over half-a-million-dollars on each occasion he fought Leon Edwards in their UFC Welterweight Title fights.
