Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been slashed to 16/1  in the latest odds as the next Premier League manager to be sacked after his side were dumped out of the FA Cup by Brighton.

It was the second time this month that the Seagulls have got the better of Klopp’s side, and that’s now three times this season Liverpool have failed to beat Brighton.

The Reds took the lead on the half-hour mark at the Amex, through Harvey Elliot before Brighton captain Lewis Dunk equalised just nine minutes later.

A replay was looking on the cards as full-time approached, however Japanese sensation Kaoru Mitoma struck late on with a fantastic finish to keep his and Brighton’s good form up. It’s now five games unbeaten for Roberto De Zerbi’s men.

Is Jurgen Klopp’s Job Really On The Line After FA Cup Exit?

According to the bookmakers, Klopp’s job is safe at Anfield as of now, with him being priced at 16/1, however it’s worth noting the change in the market over the last week.

Last week, he was a high as 33/1 to be sacked next in the Premier League, now we’ve seen a price slash of almost half.

The 55-year-old is currently ninth favourite to be sacked next, with West Ham United boss David Moyes the favourite at 11/10.

This time last year, Reds fans were dreaming at the possibility of a quadruple of trophies, with Klopp’s side one of the best in Europe.

However, 12 months down the line, things are different, with Liverpool only being in the race for one piece of silverware, and a fair bit of the league’s top four sitting in ninth place.

Up next for Klopp and his side is an away trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers this coming Saturday (4 Feb).
