The Galvin Grand National odds for 2023 sees the former Gold Cup fourth well-supported for the Aintree race today.

Galvin is another of the leading Grand National runners for trainer Gordon Elliott and rated 166 – the same as last year’s winner Noble Yeats – brings a bit of class to the race.
As a result of this high rating, this also means a big weight to carry (11-11) for Galvin and with ALL of the last 19 winners carried 11st 9lbs or less, this is a negative for him to overcome.
The 9 year-old has, however, carried big weights well in the past and warmed up for this with an excellent second to his stablemate Delta Work in the Cross Country Chase at the Cheltenham Festival last time out.
This will be his debut run in the race, but he handled the unique fences at Cheltenham last time to suggest he’ll be fine here at Aintree. If he can shoulder the big weight burden would not be without a chance as Gordon Elliott hunts down his fourth National win.
Galvin will be ridden by 2-time Grand National-winning jockey Davy Russell and is number 3.
