Dimitar Berbatov Was the Last Fulham Player To Score a Winner Against Spurs

Berbatov

With Fulham and Tottenham not being a million miles apart (geographically), then it’s no real shock that a fair few players have been employed at both clubs in recent times.

For example, Mousa Dembele was at each team between 2006 and 2019, while Scott Parker was another familiar face at the Cottage and the Lane between 2011 and 2016. In older times, Alan Mullery donned the shirt at Fulham and Spurs, plus American Clint Dempsey is another name both sets of fans will be screaming out.

However, the big player yet to be mentioned is……… Dimitar Berbatov.

The classy Bulgarian made a big impact on the English Premier League at both Tottenham and Manchester United during 2006-2012, then ended his playing days in England at Fulham, before heading off to France to play for Monaco in 2014.

At Spurs, Berbatov scored 27 goals (70 apps) and then fired in 48 goals (108 apps) for Manchester United – operating at a 44% strike-rate during his 4 year spell at the Red Devils.

He then joined Fulham in 2012, for a 2 year-period and his goal return-rate didn’t waiver much for the Cottagers – netting 19 times from 51 appearances (37%) – with one of those strikes coming against his former club, Spurs, on 17th March 2013.

A goal that remains to this day the last winning Fulham goal scored against Tottenham!
