Frankie Dettori Snapped Up To Ride Zoffee In Saturday’s Newmarket Cesarewitch
With Frankie Dettori booked to ride the Hugo Palmer-trained ZOFFEE @ 14/1 with 888Sport as early as Tuesday for Saturday’s Cesarewitch Handicap, this could be deemed a good sign.
Connections have gone early to get the experienced Italian to ride their 6 year-old, who is a best-price 20/1 with 888Sport for the Newmarket race this weekend.
Frankie rode the horse earlier this season, when a close third in the 16-runner Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket (8th July) – beaten just a head that day. He’s up 3lbs for that run and has since run down the field at Glorious Goodwood and fair third at York in a stayers’ handicap over 2m.

With a career spanning over 30 years, it’s a slight surprise that Frankie Dettori has only one previous Cesarewitch win to his name. That came in 2011 when he partnered the Jamie Osborne-trained Never Can Tell I to A 1 1/2 length success.
