Musician Noel Gallagher and Pep Guardiola are good friends as Guardiola fuels Gallagher’s boyhood side with trophies and glory. But Gallagher remembers one time that Guardiola fell out with him.
What happened between Gallagher & Guardiola?
On talkSport, Gallagher recollected a time he and Guardiola disagreed on golf. He said: “I’ve been to lunch with him (Guardiola) and he was going on about golf that day and he had a go at me about not playing golf.
“No way, [would I play it] no. It’s the death of everything. I watched the last ten minutes of the Ryder Cup, that will be it.
“I don’t like it, when I hear rockstars are playing golf I think that’s the end of everything, but he was going on about playing golf.”
All jokes aside, Gallagher then spoke on his admiration for Guardiola and everything he has done for Manchester City. He even extends his opinion to say that he’ll go down as the ‘best manager that City have ever had’.’ He said:
“He’s one of those guys, when he first met my kids, they were only small at the time, he got down on his haunches and was engaging with them there and you can see how if you were a young player you’d be mesmerised.
“He comes with the record and the trophies and players seem to love him, and he’s got that thing, whatever that thing is.
“When he leaves he’ll go down as our greatest-ever manager I think.”
Guardiola has won 14 trophies with Manchester City since joining in 2016. This includes the like of the Premier League, Champions League, Super Cup, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
City will try to win the Club World Cup in December. Only three other English sides have managed to win the tournament – Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.
City currently are first in the Premier League with 28 points after 12 games.
