Former England striker Chris Sutton has delivered his Everton vs Bournemouth prediction ahead of Sunday’s clash, backing the Toffees to narrowly beat the Cherries to retain their Premier League status for next season.

The Premier League‘s final day holds major permutations towards the bottom of the table, with relegation still undecided.

As it stands, Everton are in 17th, Leicester in 18th, and Leeds are in 19th, with all three being able to retain their top flight status for next term.

The Toffees’ fate is in their hands, as they sit two points clear of both Leicester and Leeds, and can avoid relegation with a win over Bournemouth.

A draw may not be enough for Sean Dyche’s side, as Leicester hold a better goal difference and can go level on points with Everton with a win over West Ham.

Leeds’ survival relies on Everton losing, and Leicester failing to beat the Hammers, whilst they’d have to defeat Tottenham at Elland Road.

Chris Sutton Everton vs Bournemouth Prediction

Former England and Celtic forward Chris Sutton has delivered his prediction for Sunday’s clash at Goodison, backing the hosts to narrowly retain their Premier League status.

“I actually feel like this is an awkward game for Everton. Their fate is in their own hands and I think they will stay up, but Bournemouth will make things difficult for them.” Sutton said on his BBC Sport column.

“Everton will play with great intensity but they have a worry over whether Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be fit enough to lead their attack, and they have not been free-scoring anyway.

“In contrast, Bournemouth’s position means they can play with more freedom and that makes them dangerous.

“Goodison Park will be a very tense place in the final few minutes if this game is as close as I think it will be, because I expect results elsewhere to mean that Everton have to win to stay up.”

Chris Sutton’s Prediction: Everton 1-0 Bournemouth @ 15/2
