Tottenham Hotspur managerial target Ange Postecoglou has said that he is focused on securing the treble for Celtic despite rumours linking him to the vacant Premier League job.

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has been linked to several Premier League jobs this term, but none more so than that of Tottenham‘s vacant managerial position.

Spurs’ first choice for the job Arne Slot turned the role down, signing a new contract with Feyenoord to extend his stay with the Dutch side.

This has seen Postecoglou become the bookmakers’ favourite for the job, priced by UK betting sites at around 5/2 to take over.

But in response to the links, Postecoglou has assured Celtic fans that he is focused on securing another treble for the Glasgow club.

The Bhoys have already won the Scottish Premiership, as well as the Scottish League Cup, and are to face Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Cup final in just under two weeks.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Postecoglou assured Celtic fans that he is focused on the ‘here and now’ despite Tottenham links.

“I’ve been asked about these things plenty of times, what’s important for me is the here and now.” he said.

“I’ve never planned anything in my football career.

“My ambitions right now are to enjoy tomorrow, have a good game and then try and win a cup final and make it a special season.

“It’s not every year you get the opportunity to win a treble and if anyone thinks I’m thinking anything other than that they don’t know me.”
